Talking Marriage

I always wanted to get married - I think that is why I liked the book Conjugal Love by Swedenborg.

Then I did get married.

What was it about Conjugal Love that appealed to you? What about your marriage appeals to you? Why did you always want to get married? It is something I'd really like to know since I am the person who married you.

Wink The Book Conjugal Love

I think the first paragraph in Conjugial Love by Emanuel Swedenborg is intriguing and many remember it long after reading the words:

"I am aware that many who read the following pages and the Memorable
Relations annexed to the chapters, will believe that they are fictions
of the imagination; but I solemnly declare they are not fictions, but
were truly done and seen; and that I saw them, not in any state of the
mind asleep, but in a state of perfect wakefulness: for it has pleased
the Lord to manifest himself to me, and to send me to teach the things
relating to the New Church, which is meant by the New Jerusalem in the
Revelation: for which purpose he has opened the interiors of my mind and
spirit; by virtue of which privilege it has been granted me to be in the
spiritual world with angels, and at the same time in the natural world
with men, and this now (1768) for twenty-five years."

How can you proceed without giving Swedenborg license to start story telling? He does just that with perhaps his largest "memorable relation" or story spanning 25 more paragraphs about the joys of heaven.

Of course the ruling love of heaven is described as being marriage love.

This is nothing more than agreeing with you if you think that a pure and loving marriage is possible and desirable. It is true that people like it when other people agree with them!

Somebody;
How wonderful that you share this marriage bliss here now.
Even if it may not be 100% all of the time it certainly would be a most rewarding learning experiene to both of you knowing the marriage rules and rewards.
All of the best.
